Graveside services for Harry T. McDaniel, 96, of Petersburg will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Petersburg Cemetery with the Rev. Sharon Wiese, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Littlefield, officiating. Arrangements are by Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview. Mr. McDaniel died at 12:10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, in Amarillo. He was born March 31, 1909, in Oxley, Mo. He and his family moved to Petersburg in a covered wagon. He attended and graduated from Petersburg High School. Mr. McDaniel farmed and was a partner in the Phillips 66 for a few years. He then drove a truck transporting gasoline and propane. He loved horses and competed in cutting horse competitions. He was a Christian, member of the National Quarter Horse Association and American Legion and loved to help others. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and C.D. Perry of Fort Worth; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bea McDaniel; his parents, Lou and Etta McDaniel; two brothers, Jiggs and Floyd McDaniel; and two sisters, Joyce McDaniel and Faye Germany. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview. The family suggests memorials to Petersburg Cemetery Association, Petersburg, TX 79250.
