McCurry, Bayne

Funeral services for Bayne McCurry, 72, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Lemons Memorial Chapel with the Rev Glenn Harlin, pastor of First Baptist Church in Springlake, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Memoril Park by Lemons Funeral Home.
Mr. McCurry died at 2:50 p.m. Friday Sept. 5, 2003, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.

He was born Aug. 16, 1931, in Wapanucka, Okla., and grew up in Spade. He graduated from Space High School in 1950.

Mr. McCurry joined the U.S. Army in 1953 and served until 1955. He was stationed in Missouri and later Germany.

He returned to Edmonson in 1960 where he farmed.

He married Bettye Henry on March 2, 1973, in Clovis, N.M.

Mr. McCurry was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Baynetta Jordon of Lubbock; one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Nikki McCurry of Sherman; one stepdaughter, Terrye Sue Stevens of Baird; two stepsons and daughter-in-law, Steve and Rita Kay Stevens of Amarillo and Mark and Tamra Stevens of Marble Falls; one brother, Robert McCurry of Springlake; two sisters, Emma Joyce Talley of Carbon and Inez Hanshaw of Oakland, Cali.; seven grandchildren, Sara, Ben, and Maggie Jordon of Lubbock, Jarrod McCurry of Sherman, Shelsea Hulubee of Athens, and Parker and Courtney Stevens of Marble Falls; and one great-grand-daughter, Savannah Hulubee of Athens.

A brother, Bertis McCurry and two sisters, Janie Milner and Betty McCurry, are deceased.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
