Obituary
Donald Hudgins McClure passed away on Oct. 30, 2014, in New Orleans. Born Aug. 2, 1932, to Samuel B. "Billie" McClure and Hallene Hudgins McClure in Lubbock, he grew up in Plainview and then attended Texas A&M University where he was a Ross Volunteer and member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1953 with a degree in chemical engineering and later served in the Army at Fort McClellan, Ala. While taking classes at LSU, he met his wife of 58 years, Norma Nash McClure, who survives him. Also in Baton Rouge, he began his career with Esso, where he worked for 35 years before retiring as vice president of Exxon Chemical Co. in 1988. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Donald H. McClure Jr., his daughter Kathryn McClure, two grandchildren, Ronald and Rachael Ruiz, two sisters-in-law, Jean Nash and Rosemary McClure, nephew Charles Nash and nieces Sandra Giordano, Cynthia Ross, Karen McClure and Susan McClure. He is preceded in death by his brother-in-law Clark Nash and brother Gerald B. McClure.
