Graveside services for Jack Edward McClung, 64, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Plainview Cemetery with Hugh Campbell, lay minister from San Angelo, officiating. Burial arrangements are by Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mr. McClung died at 9:07 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004, at his residence. He was born Dec. 19, 1939, in Brady. He graduated from San Angelo High School in 1958 and received a bachelor's degree in agricultural science in 1967 from Texas Tech and a master in science degree from Texas Tech in agricultural science in 1968. He served with the Army National Guard from 1961-65. He worked for the State of Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts from 1989-94. From 1994-98 he worked for Ministries Unlimited where he provided support ministry for non-profit organizations. He also served as chaplain for the Prairie House Living Center before retiring. On Nov. 12, 1998, he married Nancy Slaton in Plainview. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Marthalyn Schmidt of Lisle, Ill.; two sons, Mark McClung of Austin and Max McClung of Orland Park, Ill.; his father, Calvin Weldon McClung of San Angelo; one brother, Neill McClung of Austin; two sisters, Sherre Tankersley of San Angelo and Jode Johnson of Dallas; and six grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 201 W. Fourth. Memorials are suggested to Boys Ranch of West Texas in San Angelo or to Gideons International.
