Obituary

Mary Elizabeth McCleskey, 85, passed away Friday, Dec. 10, 2010 in Plainview. Memorial services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, in the First United Methodist Church Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Taylor officiating. Funeral services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mary Elizabeth was born to John and Cordie Stagner on Jan. 16, 1925, in Bovina, Texas. She spent her childhood in Bovina before moving to Clovis, N.M., with her family and graduating from Clovis High School. She married Mac McCleskey on Sept. 3, 1946, in Clovis. She was a homemaker. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Plainview. She is survived by one daughter, Sue Douglass and her husband, Ken, of Plainview, Texas; one son, Bill McCleskey of Allen, Texas; a sister-in-law, Virginia Stagner of Clovis, N.M.; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
