McClanahan, Wayne

Funeral services for Wayne McClanahan, 69, will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in First Christian Church with the Rev. Dean McNamara, interim pastor and chaplain of VistaCare Family Hospice, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mr. McClanahan died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2000, in University Medical Center in Lubbock.

He was born Jan. 8, 1931, in Bangs where he grew up and graduated from high school. He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He moved to Plainview in 1955 and was manager of White?s Auto Storw for more than 30 years before retiring.

He was a deacon at First Christian Church and also served on the board.

On Feb. 19, 1955, he married Rosalie Criswell in Portales, N.M.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Mike Allen of Muleshoe; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Randal McClanahan of Plainview and Dr. Mark and Robin McClanahan of Lubbock; a brother, Albert Roy McClanahan of Bowie; three sisters, Judy Swagerty of Brownwood, Laverne Robinson of Arlington and Lois Connally of Plainview; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or to a favorite charity.
