Obituary

Michael Maurice McCarty, 55, of Oklahoma City, Okla., passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2005, at 5:15 a.m. in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2005, at College Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Robertson, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. McCarty was born June 18, 1949, in Lubbock, TX. He lived in Shallowater, TX, and moved to Edmonson, TX, in 1952. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1967 and from Amarillo Vocational College in 1969. Mr. McCarty worked in car dealerships in Plainview, Midland and Lubbock. He moved to Oklahoma City in 1991 and had dealerships for several years. Mr. McCarty also farmed and ranched at Geary, Okla. He was currently employed at Mercedes-Benz of Oklahoma City. He is survived by one daughter, Carey McCarty Self and her husband, Mike, of Lubbock, TX; two sons, Corey Michael McCarty of Keller, TX and Justin Maurice McCarty of Fort Worth, TX; his mother, Mary McCarty of Edmonson, TX; his fiancee, Micheline Carrier of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one sister and brother-in-law, Paula and Ricky Sisemore of Plainview, TX; one brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Joan McCarty of Lubbock, TX; and two grandchildren, Brooke McCarty and Austin Taylor McCarty; three aunts, Helen and Mark Pair, Bonnie and Mel Gaston and Joyce and Bill McBride; one uncle, J.D. and Patsy James; nieces and nephews, Kimberly and Joey Myrick and their children, Andrew and Luke; Kristy and Keith Bechtold and their son, Justin; Juliann McCarty; and Matthew and Melanie McCarty and their daughter Bethany Ann. He was preceded in death by his father, Maurice McCarty on Dec. 14, 2003; four uncles, Glen James, Earl James, Jack James and Bennie James; and one aunt, Pauline Gandy.
