Obituary

Funeral services for Vickie Diane Hines McCarty, 53, of Plainview will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bartley Memorial Chapel with Carl Smiley of Ash and Carver Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be at Plainview Cemetery by Bartley Funeral Home. Mrs. McCarty died Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. She was born Sept. 3, 1954, in Plainview to Quenion and Imogene Hines. She married General McCarty on Feb. 4, 1978, in Plainview. She attended Plainview schools and graduated from Plainview High School in 1973. She was an LVN and director of nursing at Lockney Nursing Home and several area hospitals. At an early age, she united and was a member of Ash and Carver Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, General McCarty of Detroit, Texas; two daughters, Twyla Hines of Oklahoma City and Gail Hines and husband, Troy, of Plainview; her mother, Imogene Jackson and husband, Cyrus, of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Linda Elaine Clay and husband, Russell, of Plainview and Gwendolyn McBride of Oklahoma City; two aunts; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
