Obituary

Funeral services for Maxine McCartie, 82, of Plain?view will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Seth Ward Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Ritter officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation will be 6:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. McCartie died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010, at Prairie House Living Center. She was born July 25, 1928, in Lamesa to the late David Carlton Lindley. She married Spencer McCartie on Dec. 25, 1946, in Littlefield. He died June 26, 2009. She was a member of Seth Ward Baptist Church where she was secretary, taught Sunday school and was president of Women's Missionary Union. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Patty McCartie and Tom and Becky McCartie, all of Plainview; one brother, D.C. Lindley Jr. of Fritch; one sister, Eloise Wilson of Muleshoe; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. One son, Daniel McCartie; one brother, Weldon Lindley; and three sisters, Evelyn Curb, Dorothy Kessey and Freda Poe, are deceased.
