Graveside services for Willie Lee "Bill" McBeth, 101, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Hale Center Cemetery by Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop. Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday at Abell Funeral Home in Hale Center. Mrs. McBeth died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, at Prairie House Living Center in Plainview. She was born Feb. 25, 1908, in Rochester to Wilson and Lilly Brown. She married James Sexton McBeth on Jan. 1, 1927, in Rochester. They farmed in the Rochester, O'Brien and Knox City area until 1952 when they moved to Hale Center and continued to farm. She was active in Eastern Star, bridge clubs and bowling leagues. Survivors include two sons and two daughters-in-law, Bobby and Sue McBeth of Plainview and David and Judy McBeth of New Orleans; one sister, Mabel Wyatt of Victoria; eight grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Her husband; two sons, James Harold and Kenneth; and one great-grandson, Matthew Mericle, are deceased.
