Obituary

Loreta Margaret McBee was born on May 11, 1919, in McCulloch County, Texas, and passed from this life on Sept. 1, 2015, at the age of 96 years. She was the youngest of 14 children, born to Thomas L. and Cora L. Hodges. She married Clifford McBee on March 19, 1938, and they were married for 67 years until his passing in 2005. They lived in rural McCulloch County until 1956 when they moved to the plains of Texas. They lived in Halfway several years where Clifford worked for Hale County and she worked at the Halfway Cafe. After his retirement they moved to Plainview where she worked at Irby's Variety Store. After her husband died in 2005, she moved to Christian Manor where she resided for 10 years, and made many new friends. She was a longtime member of Garland St. Church of Christ, and she loved her church family dearly. She was intensely loyal to all her relatives and kept in contact with them as best as she could. She especially loved her children and many grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her son Jacky McBee, seven brothers and five sisters. She is survived by sons Billy McBee and wife Jane of Rochelle, Texas; Larry McBee and wife Dora of Plainview, Texas; her sister, Nettie Andrews of Plainview, Texas; she is also survived by grandchildren Anne, Gene, Blake, Yvette, Sterling, Kristi, Misti and Stephanie; 19 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of Christian Manor, Plainview Healthcare Center, Accolade Home Health Care and Josie for their loving care of our mother. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. A visitation for friends and family will be held one hour before services (1 p.m.) at Kornerstone. Prior to meeting at Kornerstone, the family will have lunch at 11:30 a.m. at Garland Street Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Plainview Memorial Park.
