Obituary

Funeral services for Clifford F. McBee, 96, were at 2 p.m. today in Garland Street Church of Christ with Russell Harris, minister, and J.W. Hamby, an elder, officiating. Burial was in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mr. McBee died Tuesday, July 12, 2005, in a local nursing facility. He was born May 9, 1909, in Throckmorton to Willie and Maggie Walker McBee. He moved to McCulloch County in 1922, to Halfway in 1958 and to Plainview in l965. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and was a safety instructor at Texas A&M Extension Service. Mr. McBee served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Garland Street Church of Christ and a past member of the Lions Club. He married Loreta Hodges on March 19, 1938, in Brady. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Larry McBee and wife, Dora, of Plainview and Billy McBee and wife, Jane, of Billings, Mont; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. His father; a son, Jacky; three brothers; and three sisters are deceased. Memorials may be made to Medina Children's Home, 21300 Hwy. 16 North, Medina, TX 78055-3808
