Obituary

Funeral services for Mary Marie Maxwell, 82, of Plainview will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Maxwell died Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Prairie House Nursing Home. She was born Aug. 17, 1928, in Bonham to Tom Cheek and Pearl Pendergraft Cheek. She owned and operated Elbows Bend Club in Plainview. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Laura Sue Belvin of Oklahoma, Randy and Kay Maxwell Brown of Weatherford and Diane Maxwell Cameron of Plainview; one son, Rex Riggs of Arkansas; a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Mona Cheek, and a sister, Sue Cheek, all of Oklahoma; four grandsons; one granddaughter; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
