Obituary
Lillie Maxwell, 77, of Plainview, passed away Monday, Sept. 25, 2006. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Gerald Boerger officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Maxwell was born April 29, 1929, in Amherst to George J. and Lillie Wassermann Harms. She graduated from Anton High School and Draughn's Business College in Lubbock. She married Dale Maxwell on June 25, 1950, in Littlefield. Lillie had worked at the Federal Land Bank for several years and had retired as a bookkeeper for James Bros. Implement Co. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for several years. She was past president and served many years on the board of Lutheran Social Services of the South. Survivors include her husband, Dale Maxwell of Plainview; one daughter, Janice Ray and husband Michael of Amarillo; one son, Gary Maxwell and wife Ethel of Amarillo; one sister, Elnora Birkelbach of Angleton; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
