Obituary

A funeral mass for Teresa Mata, 69, of Plainview will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Samuel Oracion officiating. Burial will be at Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. A rosary will be held today at 6 p.m. at Bartley Memorial Chapel. Mata died Friday, July 31, 2009, at her residence. She was born August 10, 1939, in Valle Hermoso, Mexico, to Miguel and Maria Rodriguez. She married Jose Mata on August 31, 1957, in Mexico. Mata is survived by her husband, Jose Mata of Plainview; six daughters, Maria Garcia and husband Roger, Frances Mata, Dora Chapa and husband Jerry, Irma Jaurrieta, Teresa Garcia and husband Mark and Sonia Escareno, all of Plainview; one son, Joe Mata of Plainview; one brother, Ricardo Rodriguez of Mexico; one sister, Andrea Rodriguez of Mexico; 25 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, She was preceded in death by both parents, one son, one daughter and five sisters.
