Martinez, Pedro (Pete)

Amarillo ? Funeral services for Pedro ?Pete? Martinez, 35, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in N.S. Griggs & Sons Pioneer Chapel with Monty Tuttle of Church of Christ at The Colonies officiating.

Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Hale Center Cemetery by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors.

Mr. Martinez died Monday, March 3, 2003, in Amarillo.

He was born April 15, 1967, in Plainview where he grew up. He moved to Amarillo in 1997. He was employed at Excel as a supervisor until 1993 when he became disabled.

He was a member of the Panhandle Independent Living Center of Amarillo.

Survivors include his friend, Melissa Potter of Pampa; two sons, Pete Martinez and Christopher Martinez, both of Abernathy; a daughter, Ashley Martinez of Plainview; four brothers, Manuel Martinez of Minneapolis, Miss., Louis Martinez of Red Lake, Minn., Angel Martinez of La Grange and James Cruz of Smyer; here sisters, Olga Benetiz of Minneapolis, Rosa Garza of Lubbock and Jose Martinez of San Antonio; his mother, Rosa Martinez and her husband, Keith Emmert of Hale Center; a granddaughter, Kelsey Morgan Tenorio; and extended family members Shonda Smith of Amarillo and Rachel Santana of Buschel, Germany.

The family suggests memorials to Panhandle Independent Living Center of Amarillo, TX 79101.
