Obituary

Funeral Mass for Angelita Martinez, 93, was at 10 a.m. today in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Arsenio Redulla, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Plainview Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Martinez died at 11:14 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, 2005, at her home. She was born Oct. 1, 1911, in Alpine to Miguel and Manuela Flores Montez and grew up in Mertzon. On Feb. 9, 1934, she married Dolores Martinez in Mertzon. He died Dec. 22, 1989. Mrs. Martinez lived in Fort Stockton and McCamey and moved back to Mertzon and eventually moved to Plainview in 1950. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include five daughters and four sons-in-law, Marcelina and Alfonzo Delgado, Candy and Lupe Rogers and Victoria Martinez of Plainview, Cecilia and Tib Rincon of Mineral Wells and Alice and Miguel Alvarado of Olton; one son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Virginia Martinez of Plainview; a sister-in-law, Isabel Montez of Mertzon; 15 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 28 great-great-grandchildren.
