Obituary

Rosary for Cristina Martinez, 80, of Plainview will be at 7 p.m. today in Bartley Memorial Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Arsenio Redulla officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Bartley Funeral Home. Mrs. Martinez died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005, at her residence. She was born July 24, 1925, in Pawnee, Texas, to Jose and Octavina Ortega. She married Casimiro Martinez on Nov. 21, 1956, in Littlefield. He preceded her in death on April 5, 2004. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and knitting. She loved to spend time with her family and friends. We will all miss her dearly. Survivors include two daughters, Ann Marie Torres and husband Baldamar of Plainview and Natividad Gonzalez and husband Jesus of Plainview; a brother, Macario Ortega of Wisconsin; three sisters, Evangelina Perez of Wisconsin, Angelita Findly of Illinois and Dominga Martinez of Weslaco; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews
