Obituary

Funeral Mass for Casimiro Martinez, 78, were at 2 p.m. today in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Gerry Kenney, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Plainview Memorial Park by Calvillo Funeral Home of Lubbock. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday in Bartley Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Martinez died Thursday, April 1, 2004, in Plainview. He was born March 4, 1926, in Sabinal. He lived in Aiken for 20 years and farmed. He moved to Amherst in 1978 where he retired from farming. He moved from Amherst to Plainview in 2003. He was a Catholic. On Nov. 21, 1956, he married Cristina Ortega in Littlefield. Survivors include his wife; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ana Maria and Baldemar Torres and Natividad and Jesus A. Gonzales, all of Plainview; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Three brothers and three sisters are deceased.
