Obituary

Calixto Martinez Jr., 50, former Plainview resident, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2008, in Oklahoma. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2008, at College Heights Baptist Church with Eloy Felan Jr. and Sonny Osio officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Martinez was born April 26, 1958, in Plainview, Texas, to Calixto P. Sr. and Petra Felan Martinez. He attended Plainview Schools and served in the U.S. Army from 1976-90. He worked as a floor tech supervisor for Statewide Building Services in Tulsa, Okla. He is survived by one daughter, Regina Martinez of Allen; three sons, Jason Quintana of Killeen, Travis J. Martinez of Amarillo and Johnathan Martinez of Allen; his parents, Calixto Sr. and Petra Martinez of Plainview; three sisters, Linda and her husband, Aggeo Osio, of Dilley, Gloria and her husband, Bert Alvarez, of Weslaco, and Vicky and her husband, Ray Garza, of San Antonio; three brothers, Luis and his wife, Diane Martinez, of Plainview, Mark and his wife, Estela Martinez, of Plainview, and Ruben and his wife, Chris Martinez, of Garland; and three grandchildren. A prayer service will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel.
