Martinez, Baldo H.,Jr.

Funeral services for Baldo H. Martinez Jr., 74, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Trinity Fellowship Church with the Rev. Valentine Martinez, pastor of Living Faith Christian Church in Olton, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Bartley Funeral Home.

Prayer services will be from 7-8 tonight in Bartley Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Martinez died Friday, Aug. 5, 2005 in Covenant Hospital Plainview.

He was born June 4, 1931, in Dripping Springs to Baldo Sr. and Antonia Hernandez Martinez and grew up in Morton.

Mr. Martinez married Lupe Gaona, April 4, 1950, in Clovis, N.M. For the past 14 years, they have lived in Plainview where he was a farmer. He loved to sing and play his guitar and accordion.

Survivors include his wife; 10 sons, Alfredo Martinez and Richard Martinez of Madison, Neb., Adolfo Martinez, Benny Martinez and Valentine Martinez of Olton, Tony Martinez and Eloj Martinez of Lubbock, Francisco Martinez of Odessa, Baldo Martinez III of Littlefield, and Juan Martinez, stationed in Korea; seven daughters, Mary L. Villarreal of Hereford, Olga Balderas of Plainview, Juanita Perez of Lockney, Yolanda Perez and Angelita Rodriquez of Olton, Margaret Nickens of Lubbock and Guadalupe Garcia of San Angelo; 38 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
