Obituary

Funeral services for Concepcion "Concha" Peralez Martinez, 94, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in College Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Glen E. Godsey, associate director of the Caprock-Plains Baptist Area, and Joe Barrera, pastor of Jericho Fellowship, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home. A memorial service will be from 7-9 p.m. today in Lemons Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Martinez died at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2002, in Covenant Hospital. She was born May 10, 1907, in Bridgeport. She moved to Plainview in 1954. She was a homemaker and a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista. In 1926, she married Alfredo Martinez Sr., in San Angelo. He died Dec. 1, 1976. Survivors include two daughters, Oralia Venzor of Sweetwater and Delina Silvas of Plainview; six sons, Alfonso Martinez, Calixto Martinez and Alfredo Martinez Jr., all of Plainview, Juan Martinez of San Antonio, Cruz Martinez of Fort Worth and Carlos Martinez of Lockhart; 75 grandchildren; 190 great-grandchildren; 70 great-great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-great-grandchildren. Four daughters, Genovena Jeminez, Julie Cortez, Delores Mendolia and Josefina Martinez, a son, David Martinez, five brothers and two sisters, are deceased.
