Obituary

ABERNATHY - Funeral services for Betty Lou Connally Martin, 69, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Joel Perez officiating. Burial will be in Abernathy Cemetery by Abell Funeral Home. Mrs. Martin died Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. She was born Aug. 21, 1932, in Stanford. She moved to Abernathy in 1963 from Levelland and retired from the Abernathy ISD in 1994. On Sept. 8, 1951, she married Max T. Martin in Haskell. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Gary Martin of Hamlin and Ray Martin of Rotan; three daughters, Judy Blumenstock of Dallas, Janis Griffith of Victoria and Sherry Holden of Abernathy; a brother, Bill Connally of Breckenridge; nine grandchildren; a stepgrandchild; five great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
