Martin, Max

Funeral services for Max Martin, 72, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Abernathy First Baptist Church with the Rev. Joel Perez officiating.

Burial will be in Abernathy Cemetery by Abell Funeral Home,

Mr. Martin died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, in Lubbock.

He was born July 22, 1930, in Stamford. He moved to Abernathy from Levelland in 1963. He was a former member of the Abernathy Booster Club.

On Sept. 8, 1951, he married Betty Lou Connally in Haskell. She died Sept. 28, 2001.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Charlotte Martin of Hamlin and Ray and Tina of Rotan; three daughter and a son-in-law, Sherry Holden of Abernathy, Judy Blumenstock of Dallas and Janis and Randy Griffith of Victoria; nine grand-children; one step-grandchild; five great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
