Obituary

Funeral services for Lois Martin, 87, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church with Dr. Max Browning, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Martin died at 1 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2002, in Plainview. She was born Oct. 23, 1914 in Belton and married John B. Martin on Jan. 8, 1933 in Belton. He died in February of 1991. She attended schools in Belton and in 1946 moved to Plainview where she attended Lippert?s Business College. She was a school secretary at Highland and Thunderbird elementary schools. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Waunice Newton of Kaufman and Rita and Tommy Holland of Plainview; a brother, Fred Stroud of Salado; a sister, Lillian McKinney of Waco; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
