Obituary

O.C. Marshall Funeral services for Deacon O.C. Marshall, 97, of Plainview will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Happy Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. Mr. Marshall died Saturday, March 22, 2014, in Plainview. He was born on Feb. 2, 1917, in Paris, Texas, to Willis and Mariah Marshall. He married Nannie Lee Lipscomb on July 19, 1941, in Greenville, Texas. She died May 6, 2007. He farmed all of his life and was a deacon at Happy Union Baptist Church. He is survived by one son, Eugene Marshall of Oklahoma City; four daughters, Emma Herring and husband Fred of Plainview, Minnie Marshall of Plainview, Wanda Jackson and husband James of Clovis, N.M., and Billie Taylor of Paris, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Nannie, both parents, three brothers and two sisters.
