Marr, Dayton Brice

Services for Dayton Brice Marr, 69, of Abernathy, Texas, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Northside Baptist Church with Dr. Kenneth Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home.

Mr. Marr died Tuesday, June 3, 2003 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born on Sept. 27, 1933 in Lubbock County and married Jeanne Foster on July 2, 1952 in Lubbock. They moved to Abernathy in 1969 from County Line, Texas. He was Resident Deputy for the Hale County Sheriffs Office for 29 years and was a member of County Line Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Marr; mother-in-law, Hubert Foster; two daughters, Robin Luna, and Cindy Hernandez; five grandchildren, Michael Luna, Matthew Luna, Marc Anderson, Laura Ortiz, and Kym St. Clair; five great-grandchildren, Archie, Gabrielle, Nicholas, Breanna, and Josiah; a brother, Glenford Marr and his wife, Marie; a sister, Valedia Williams and her husband, Wayne.
