Obituary

Services for Syble Marquis, 93, of Abernathy will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Abernathy First Baptist Church with the Rev. S.W. Keaton officiating.

Burial will be in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy.

She died Tuesday, June 25, 2002.

She was born Feb. 28, 1909, in McKinney. She moved to Hale County in 1923 from McKinney. She married Raymond Marquis on Aug. 11, 1929, in Kress. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Abernathy and was a member of the Quilting Club.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ramona Foster, on Oct. 1, 1998, and a granddaughter in 1977.

Survivors include her husband; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
