Marquez, Severo

Abernathy-- Funeral Mass for Severo Marquez, 78, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Isidore Catholic Church with the Rev. Arnold Brayo officiating.

Burial will be in Abernathy Cemetery by Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock.

Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home's Abbey Chapel.

Mr. Marquez died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, in Lubbock.

He was born June 7, 1925, in Kosciusko. He later moved to Mosquiz, Coahulia, Mexico. He returned to Eagle Pass and spent several years as a migrant worker. He also worked in seasonal farm labor in the Abernathy area.

He lived for several years with his stepmother and uncle, assisting them with their daily routines.

He was a longtime resident of Abernathy and later became a resident at Heritage Oaks Nursing Home and Rehabillitaion Center in Lubbock.

He was a member of St. Isidore's Catholic Church.

Survivors include a brother, Carlos Marquez of Lubbock; and a sister, Carmen Quinonez of Abernathy.

His family suggests memorials to the Parkinson's Disease APA, 3506 21st, Lubbock, TX 79410.
