Obituary

Myrtle "Danny" Mann of Plainview passed away Thursday, May 25, 2006, in Plainview. Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2006, in First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home. Myrtle was born June 7, 1904, in Cook County to Lee Morris and Margaret Simons Morris. She married Robert C. Daniel in 1922, and had five wonderful children. They moved to the Hale County area in 1924 and farmed for a brief time around the Halfway area, then later moved to town to continue raising their family. She continued her education to become an LVN and worked at the Plainview Hospital for approximately 15 years. Robert preceded her in death in 1964. Myrtle married Frank Bain in 1967 and he preceded her in death in 1975. She married Harry Mann in 1977 and he preceded her in death in 1992. Mrs. Mann also was preceded in death by one son, Morris Daniel; a daughter, Marty Smith; brothers, R.L. Morris and Charlie Morris; and sisters, Zula Tucker, Pearl West and Janie Brownd. Myrtle is survived by two sons, Robert Daniel of Amarillo and Troy Daniel of Brownwood; a daughter, Dixie Gold of Plainview; a sister, Frankie Hunter of Amarillo; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
