Obituary

HALE CENTER--Funeral services for John Darrel Mann, 66, were at 10 a.m. today in First Baptist Church with Dr. Carroll Green, interim pastor, officiating. Burial was in Center Plains Cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home. Mr. Mann died Sunday, July 17, 2005, in Covenant Medical Center Lubbock. He was born March 22, 1939, to J.L. and Dorothy Mann in Cotton Center. Mr. Mann attended schools in Hale Center and Cotton Center. He married Lucy Mary Taylor on Dec. 21, 1996, in Petersburg. He farmed and was a retired electrician. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Rick Mann of Mesquite and Robert Mann of San Angelo; two daughters, Rhonda Cole of Waynesbury, Pa. and Darla Dickens of Mesquite; one sister, J'Nell Shirley of Fontana, Calif; two stepsons, Thaddeus Moyer of Wichita Falls and Edward Berrey Moyer of Denton; two stepdaughters, Lucy Mary Hernandez and Catherine Annette Whatley of Austin; and nine grandchildren. A son, John Mann, and his parents are deceased. The family suggests memorials to a favorite charity
