Juanita Esquivel, 89, of Plainview passed away Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, surrounded by family.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Monsignor Arsenio Redulla as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Plainview Memorial Park. A Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home.
Juanita was born on Aug. 23, 1926, in Brady, Texas, to Bonifacio and Francisca (Serrano) Esquivel. She moved to Plainview in 1954 and settled here with her family. Juanita was a business owner and loved serving the people of this area at Ana's Cafe which she owned and ran for many years.
One of Juanita's passions was listening to music and dancing. She enjoyed serving people and loved spending time with her family. She was a member of the Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and two sisters, one son, Juan Armendarez, and one daughter, Paula Armendarez.
Survivors include one son, Joe Armendarez of Wichita Falls; two daughters, Guadalupe Gomez of Plainview and Rosa Armendarez of McAllen; one brother, Andres Esquivel; one sister, Ramona Esquivel; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
