Carlos 'Charlie' Maldonado KRESS - Carlos "Charlie" Maldonado, 64, of Kress, passed away at home on Saturday, March 9, 2013. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Kress. Father Mark Gonzales will be the officiant. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park. Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today, March 12, 2013, at St. Paul's Catholic Church. Carlos "Charlie" Felan Maldonado was born on May 12, 1948, in Robstown, Texas, to Eduardo and Concepcion (Felan) Maldonado. Charlie was a hard worker and was employed as a machinist at Daffern Steel for more than 30 years. He loved playing bingo with friends, and vacationing with his family to travel and visit relatives. Charlie was an extremely likeable man who was always happy and never had a harsh word for anyone. He was the best brother he could be to all his siblings. He loved his nephews and nieces and was very close to them. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Charlie was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church of Kress. Charlie is survived by his siblings and their spouses: Bertha and Ernest Garza of Hereford, Nena and Tony Cabrera of Kress, Linda Guerra of Plainview, Pedro and Mable Maldonado of Round Rock, Oscar and Monna Maldonado of Amarillo, and Joe and Esperanza Maldonado of Kress. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings: Enrique Maldonado, Ernest Maldonado, Ruben Maldonado, Gloria Maldonado, Zulema Maldonado and Hortencia Vuittonet; and his brother-in-law, Ben Guerra.
