Obituary

Services for L. D. Lynch, 85, Longtime Lubbock resident, will be held at 1:30 pm Friday, October 18, 2013, in the Lone Star Cowboy Church in Lubbock, TX. Rev. Jerry Stewart and Silas Short will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Hale Center, TX.

Mr. Lynch passed away peacefully Monday, October 14, 2013, in Lubbock, TX.

He was born January 6, 1928 in Hale Center, TX, where he was raised and attended school. during his Senior year at Hale Center High School, he was drafted into the United States Army, 1947, serving towards the end of WWII. After being discharged, he returned to Hale Center, where he was employed in construction, working for the water department and the City of Hale Center. He was drafted again in 1955, and served in Korea. He married Doris Hagood on August 16, 1958 in Clovis, NM. Mr. Lynch was a member of the Hale Center First United Methodist Church, and was baptized at the Lone Star Cowboy Church in Lubbock a couple of years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Lynch and a daughter, Mindy Lynch and husband William "Shorty", all of Lubbock, TX; 2 brothers, Roy Lynch of Rossville, GA and Ray Lynch of Lubbock, 5 grandchildren, Scott Lynch of Woodville, TX, Shannon Williams of Houston TX, Christoher Lamkin of Teague and Lee (D.) Lynch and Veston Lynch both of Lubbock, TX, 5 great grandchildren, Beau, Isabel, Hannah, Kimberlie and Kenton ad numerous nieces and nephews.
