Memorial services for Linda Kay Rogers Lyle, 61, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating.
Arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lyle died at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at her residence.
She was born March 18, 1941, in Fort Worth. She graduated from Baylor University with a bachelor?s degree in music. She was first runner-up in the Miss Texas Pageant in 1962.
In 1964, she moved to Plainview and attended Texas Tech University and Wayland Baptist University where she studied accounting. She worked as a CPA for Williams, Meriwether and Smith, retiring in 2000 after 10 years of service.
Mrs. Lyle was appointed by Gov. George W. Bush to the Brazos River Authority. She was president of P.E.O., past president of Plainview Community Concerts, past PTA president, chairman of the Baptist Church Loan Corp., and chairman of the Finance Committee at First Baptist Church where she was a longtime member of the Sanctuary Choir and was a former director of an adult Sunday school department.
On Dec. 22, 1962, she married Paul Lyle in Dallas.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter and son-in-law, Leah Kay and Brent Gabriel of Southlake, a son and daughter-in-law, John Paul and Christy Lyle of Colorado Springs, Colo.; her mother, Eula Mae Warren of Plainview; a brother, Jerry Lynn Rogers of Dallas; and four grandchildren, Dallas Jake Lyle and London Avery Lyle, both of Colorado Springs, and Garrett Brent Gabriel and Olivia Kay Gabriel, both of Southlake.
