Robert Luster dies at 84 ? Plainview Daily Herald June 19, 1980

Robert Lewis (Bob) Luster, 84, of 2601 Fisher St. died at 5 p.m. Wednesday in Heritage Home where he had been the past two and a half months.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday in Wood-Dunning Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Ewing, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Plainview Cemetery directed by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home.

Mr. Luster was born May 21, 1896 in Mena, Ark. And moved to Plainview in 1925 from Turkey, Texas. His wife, the former Laura Stutte whom he married in Arkansas, died in June 1944. He married Cora Spann in February 1954 in Plainview. She died in December 1978.

He was a blacksmith until he retired in 1967. A member of the American Legion, Mr. Luster had served in World War I.

Surviving are one son, Gilbert Luster of Plainview, four daughters, Mrs. W.T. (Betty) King of Hart, Mrs. B.L. (Geneva) Herren of Houston, Scott of Dallas and Dorinda Luster of Lubbock; one brother Fred Luster of Wapanucka, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
