Funeral services for Gilbert Lewis Luster, 80, were at 11 a.m. today in Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Horace Abbott, pastor, officiating.
Burial was in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home.
Mr. Luster died at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002, in Covenant Hospital Plainview.
He was born Sept. 2, 1922, in Johnson County, Okla. He served with the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was owner and operator of a blacksmith for 45 years.
He was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Melody Sunday School Class and served on the church board and was a member of the American Legion.
On July 16, 1951, he married Lou Annie Boykin in Wichita, Kan.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sheila Johnson and Sondra Shaw, both of Plainview; a sister, Betty King of Hart; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
The family suggests memorials to Trinity United Methodist Church; American Cancer Society; or to a favorite charity.
