Obituary

Rosary for Rosa Viasana Luera, 60, of Abernathy will be at 7 p.m. today at Chapel of Angels Funeral Home with Rosa Compean officiating.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Abernathy with the Rev. Reymundo Manriquez officiating.

Burial will be in Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Chapel of Angels Funeral Home of Lubbock.

She died Wednesday, July 18, 2001.

She was born Nov. 8, 1940, in Logan, N.M., where she attended school. She married Cruz Luera on Dec. 19, 1955, in Muleshoe. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and Guadalupanas.

A son, Jesse, died in 1956.

Survivors include her husband; five sons, Cruz Jr. of Wallace, Rosalio of Abernathy, David of Dighton, Kan., Daniel of Floydada and Gilbert of Lubbock; three daughters, Christine Ortiz of Shallowater and Minerva Esquibel and Linda Lopez, both of Abernathy; a brother, Carmelo Viasana of Big Spring; three sisters, Ramona Ramirez of Lamesa, Antonia Viasana of Altus, Okla., and Mary Martinez of Wichita, Kan.; 25 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
