Obituary

Maria Del Carmen Lucio, 72, of Plainview, passed away on May 19, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2015, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Raymundo Manriquez officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2015, at the Kornerstone Funeral Chapel. Maria was born on Feb. 23, 1943, in Zacatecas, Mexico, to Encarnacion and Ricarda Chavez. She was a homemaker and a member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Maria married Joaquin Lucio Sr. on Oct. 6, 1962, in Mexico. She is preceded in death by her parents; two children, Joaquin and Bertha; and sister, Sara. She is survived by her husband, Joaquin Lucio Sr.; five sons, Gerardo Lucio, Arturo Lucio, Joaquin Lucio Jr., Efren Lucio and Jesse Lucio; four daughters, Irma Lucio, Teresa Salinas, Bertha Mireles and Esperanza Ramirez; 28 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; nine brothers, Ruben, Everino, Jesus, Pablo, Pedro, Javier, Gerardo, Roberto and Pancho; and two sisters, Amparo and Maria. Memorial may be made to American Heart Association , 7272 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75231.
