Funeral Mass for Louis Lucero, 78, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Theresa?s Catholic Church with the Rev. Reymundo Manriquez, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Hale Center Cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home.
Rosary will be recited at 7 tonight and again Monday at the church.
Mr. Lucero died at his home Friday, Nov. 29, 2002.
He was born May 18, 1924, in Fort Sumner, N.M., and moved to Hale Center in 1926 with his family. He married Josefina Flores on Nov. 23, 1963, in Hale Center. He served in the United States Navy, with honors, during World War ll aboard the USS Cleveland.
He was a carpenter and a member of St. Theresa?s Catholic Church and the VFW.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Mark Lucero of Abernathy, George Lucero of Lubbock and Jodie Lucero of Odessa; four brothers, William Lucero of Hale Center, Jose Lucero of Lubbock, Ben Lucero of El Paso, and Max Lucero of Tucson, Ariz; a sister, Teresa Martinez of San Antonio; and seven grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be sent to cancer research.
