Funeral services for Huey "Pete" Lowrie, 69, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Garland Street Church of Christ with Russell Harris, minister, and Johnny Peck, an elder, officiating.

Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home.

Mr. Lowrie died at 10:15 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, in Plainview.

He was born Jan. 14, 1935, in Wheeler. He moved with his parents to Bovina where he grew up and graduated from Bovina High School. He attended Eastern New Mexico University for two years before spending two years in the U.S. Army.

He moved to Hereford in 1960 and Plainview in 1982. He was with Energas for 34 years and was district superintendent of construction and maintenance when he retired in 1994.

On Oct. 10, 1959, he married Janet Sells in Stockdale.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Russell Harkins of Easter Community and Sharon and Brent Self of Dimmitt; a brother and sister-in-law; David and Paula Lowrie of Clarendon; and six grandchildren, Ryan, Derik and Wesley Harkins, and Tanner, Shantell and Tucker Self.

The family suggests memorials to VistaCare Hospice of Plainview or the American Cancer Society.
