Obituary

Wayne Lovell, 86, of Plainview passed away Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010, in Plainview. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Joe P. Weldon officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, 2010, at the funeral home. Wayne was born July 17, 1924, in Waxahachie, Texas, to Thomas and Nettie Lovell. He grew up there and in Wills Point. He came to Plainview in 1933 and attended schools here. He worked for Curry Motor Freight Lines for 37 years and another few years for Central Freight Lines as a delivery driver. He was a Baptist. He married Almeta Alvis on Oct. 6, 1946, in Plainview. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Dennis Lovell; two brothers, Buster and Billy Lovell; and four sisters, Vera Creed, Pauline Conner, Louise Hale and Geneva Lovell. Survivors include his wife, Almeta Lovell of Plainview; three sons, Mike Lovell and his wife, Rose, of Terrell, Texas, Tommy Lovell and his wife, Rebecca, of Lubbock and Keith Lovell and Carmen Garcia of Plainview; one sister, Bobbie Anderson of Denton; four grandchildren, Tessa Erwin and her husband, Barry, of Austin, Jennifer Lovell of Plainview, Pebbles Sanchez of Lubbock and Bambam Carmichael of Lubbock; two great-grandchildren, Brayleigh Lovell and Kameron Anderson of Plainview; and many nieces and nephews.
