Obituary

Funeral Mass for Ermalinda Rios Lopez, 66, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Raymundo Manriquez officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. She was born July 7, 1941, in Ballinger to Rumaldo and Tiodora Rios. She married Pete Lopez Sr., on Feb. 8, 1959, in Plainview. She worked for Coronado Junior High and retired in 1994. She then went to work for Wal-Mart SuperCenter. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Leroy and Aurora Lopez of Slaton and Pete and Anna Lopez Jr. and David Lopez of Plainview; two brothers, Chris Rios of Tulia and Rumaldo Rios Jr., of Las Cruces, N.M.; four sisters, Sally Calzada of Roswell, N.M., Martina Garza of Tulsa, Okla., Olivia Perez of Ballinger, and Noemi Rios of Plainview; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her sister, Josepha Salas, is deceased. The family suggests memorials to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 211 W. Seventh, Plainview, TX 79072.
