Obituary

Joe Lopez, 84, of Lubbock, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2013. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at Lemons Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mario Davila officiating. Interment will follow the service in Plainview Cemetery. Funeral service arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home. Open visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 18, 2013 at the funeral home.
Joe was born on January 9, 1929 in Flint, Michigan to Lasaro and Amalia (Botello) Lopez. Joe and Arsenia Villarreal were married on December 28, 1947 in Florence, Arizona. Joe worked in the roofing business for many years before his retirement. Joe was an extremely hard working man who provided well for his family, and was a wonderful grandfather. He greatly enjoyed cowboy movies and was a cowboy himself. Joe was a member of the Flint Avenue Baptist Church in Lubbock. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of over 65 years, Arsenia Lopez, of Lubbock; his children: sons, Larry Lopez and his wife, Patsy, of Desoto, Texas; Adam Lopez and his wife, Rita, of Phoenix, Arizona; and Sammy Lopez of Lubbock; his daughters, Estella Sanchez of Abilene, Texas; Eunice Solomon and her husband, John; Diana Lopez, all of Lubbock; Odilia Wilson of Ft. Myers, Florida; and daughter-in-law Jennifer Lopez of Tucson, Arizona. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Daniel Lopez; three brothers, and two sisters.
