Obituary

Funeral services for Lee Looney, 85, were at 2 p.m. today in Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Ritter, pastor of Seth Ward Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mr. Looney died at 8:51 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, 2004, in Covenant Hospital. He was born April 13, 1919, in Plainview where he had been a lifelong resident. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. On Oct. 15, 1938, he married Ernestine Worsham in Plainview. She died Jan. 21, 2003. Survivors include one daughter, Pat Adams of Plainview; three sons, Gary Looney and Lawrence Looney, both of Plainview, and Milton Looney of San Jose, Calif.; three sisters, Louise Massey and Leota Phillips, both of Idaho, and Genevie Rives of Grand Prairie; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Three brothers, four sisters and a grandson are deceased. The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer's Association.
