Obituary

Funeral services for Lois Olivia Looney, 99, of Plainview will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Looney died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011. She was born Jan. 9, 1912, in Stuart, Okla., to Lee and Alexa Burns McNutt. She was raised in Oklahoma and came to Texas on a wagon train. She lived in the Texas Panhandle area most of her life. She married Jack Roy Looney on April 10, 1929, in Plainview. He died May 17, 1983. She worked for Plainview Laundry and Luster's Laundry. She also owned and operated The Furniture Barn and worked at East Side Grocery Store, retiring in 2001. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Phyllis Looney of Paris, Texas; two daughters and a son-in-law, Ruth Shaddix of Greenville and Roberta and Joe Settle of Plainview; a brother, O.V. McNutt of Stuart, Okla.; a sister, Delores Stinson of Fay, Okla.; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 43 great-great-grandchildren; five great-great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Her parents; her husband; four brothers; two sisters; and two great-grandchildren are deceased. Donations may be made to First Church of the Nazarene, 2610 W. 20th St., Plainview, TX 79072.
