Obituary

Funeral services for Ruby Long, 97, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Main Street Church of Christ in Petersburg with Owen Carr, minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Petersburg Cemetery under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Long died Saturday, June 19, 2010, in Amherst. She was born Aug. 27, 1912, to John and Virgie Johnson in Bell County. She married Arnold Everett Long. He died in 1993. She was a member of Lubbock Christian University Associates and Main Street Church of Christ. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Debby Long of Amarillo; one daughter, Arnell Scott of Littlefield; two brothers, C.W. Johnson of Paradise, Calif., and Bobby Johnson of Mesa, Ariz.; one sister, Wanza Bannister of Bridgeport; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
