Obituary

Memorial services for Loyd Linville, 60, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Lee Walls of Four Square Church of Amarillo officiating. Arrangements are by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Linville died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, at V.A. Medical Center in Amarillo. He was born March 7, 1947, in Plainview to Emmett and Marian Linville. He grew up and attended schools in Plainview. He was in the U.S. Army for 22 years, including two tours in Vietnam, before retiring in 1987. He married Sandra Gibson on March 22, 1997, in Plainview. Survivors include his wife; two daughters and one son-in-law, Adriana and Kay Weigel of Goellheim, Germany, and Fabiana Linville of Weitersweiler, Germany; one son and daughter-in-law, Loyd Ottie and Christine Linville of Hettenleidelheim, Germany; one stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Valerie and Paul Mojica of Plainview; one stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Shawn and Typhany Jones of Fort Benning, Ga.; four brothers, his twin Floyd Linville of Lubbock, Emmett Linville of Stockton, Mo., Larry Linville of Plainview and Jerry Linville of Columbus, Ga.; four sisters, Mary Joe Harvey of Albuquerque, N.M., Marilyn Helms of Paris, Helen Sharp of Granbury and Linda Breckenridge of Liberty, Ark.; and 10 grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to any children's home or injured soldier fund.
