Jimmie A. Lindeman, 87, died on Jan. 27, 2015. Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, at Kornerstone Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kyle Brock officiating. Cremations arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held immediately following the service. Mr. Lindeman was born on Oct. 26, 1927, to Adolf William and Pearlee Lindeman. He attended Price School in the Claytonville area and made a living as a truck driver in his early years until he was called to serve his country in the United States Army from 1950-1952. Soon after his return from service he met and married the love of his life, Doris Elaine Amburn, on July 13, 1953, and they settled and built their lives in Plainview. Jim had an adventurous spirit and a great love for learning how to do many things in his life and he used his many talents to provide for his family over the years. The community will remember him the most as an appliance and washer repairman. He and his wife operated several laundry businesses and he repaired washers out of their home for many years. He also worked several years at Jimmy Dean and later at Excel from where he retired in 1992. He was an RV enthusiast and loved to travel and spent his retirement traveling most of the United States with his wife, Doris, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also loved to ride bikes and was seen often riding around town up until a few years ago. He was always willing to help his many friends and family members with truck driving jobs over the years from his brother at Dulaney Auto Parts to helping his son-in-law with harvest on the farm. He is survived by two daughters: Elaine Lindeman of Plainview and Polly Horne and husband Mark of Plainview; one son: Jimmie Alfred Lindeman Jr. and wife Pauletta of Pueblo West, Colorado; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Lisa and Luis Garcia and their son Brody, Becky and Richard Guerrero and their children Colby and Dax, Rachel and Wade Prutzman and their children Katee and Mylee, Lacy and Tyler Phillips and their children Tyann, Austin and Amelia, Haley and Eric Buske and their children Kaden and Landree, Lori Lindeman and her son Blake, Katy and Brent Coleman, Traci and Jay Schmidt and their children Oliver and Eleanor, Jamie Austin and her son Rylee and Lynzy Lindeman and her daughter Harley. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Doris Elaine Lindeman and one sister Wanda Lindeman. The family suggests memorials to Hale County Senior Citizens, 1107 Smyth, Plainview, TX 79072 or Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, TX 79174-0001.
