Obituary
Funeral services for Ellen Lewellen, 77, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Drew Travis, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Ms. Lewellen died April 2, 2002 at 2:05 p.m. at her residence. She was born Aug. 27, 1924 in Fletcher, Okla. She moved with her family to Hale County in 1925. She attended Plainview schools, graduating from Plainview High School in 1942. Ms. Lewellen was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Plainview Country Club and Plainview Junior Service League, later becoming a sustaining member. When her children were young, she was active in PTA, PHS Band Boosters and PHS A Cappella Choir Parents and belonged to several bridge clubs. Survivors include one daughter, Beverly Lewellen of Austin, three sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Jane Lewellen and Chris and Sue Lewellen of Plainview, Phillip and Connie Lewellen of Plano; her children?s father, Alvin Earl Lewellen of Marble Falls; one sister, Merle Miller of Nelson, Ill.; six grandchildren, Paige Nordell, Brooks Lewellen, Ashley Williams, Darrin Lewellen, Quin Lewellen, Stefan Lewellen and one great-grandchild, Carter Williams. One brother and six sisters are deceased and a grandson, Kevin Lewellen, died in 1973.
